Happy Nap Time

I decided that a small update would be good. I am currently enjoying the lap of luxury, both babies are napping. So here's the latest. We are still living with boxes, I'm making slow progress, but progress just the same. Today I took my first outting with BKZA all by myself. B&K were very well behaved, Z sang his alphabet song and A slept. So it was a good trip to Wal-Mart Superstore (we were out of milk). A is sleeping pretty good at night. I hate to give too many details least she catch wind of the fact that not all babies sleep from 11pm to 2am and then again until 5am, so I will leave it at that and continue to say my nightly prayer. It goes something like this, "Thank you Lord for this beautiful child, I love her and am so thankful to have her in my life. Please help her to sleep well tonight."

Memorial Day weekend 2007

Happy Memorial Day 2007 (a day late)! Jason and I worked a lot on the new house this weekend. Mostly we just tried to empty the mound of boxes that I’ve been living with. We also did a little home improvement. As previously, I have learned a couple of things during this weekend. Here they are in no particular order:

1.) Home improvement projects take about 2 times the amount of time you allot to finish them. For example; Jason began his project of putting up 3 ceiling fans at 9am and anticipated finishing sometime after lunch… he finished at 10:30pm!

2.) Unpacking isn’t like unwrapping Christmas presents!

3.) Children are not easily entertained while you unpack boxes except with things like box cutters, outlets and other non-children friendly things!

4.) Air conditioning is important in Texas, especially when you are unpacking (we admit we are wimps!).

With love to you all from a mound of boxes in my new home!

Welcome Home

A real quick note to let all of you know that BKZA and I arrived at our new home safe and sound and with LOTS of boxes. Sadly we are currently without air conditioning and that is making the unpacking process a little (nah a LOT) uncomfortable. A is still sleeping well, B loves his new room and KZ are adjusting to sharing a room. Will write more soon!

Here is what I know

Here’s the latest update on A and her news (since she’s the one changing the most in our house right now). She was weighed at the hospital and we were told she weighed 8lbs 5 oz, but then the next day we were told she was 8lbs 6 oz, then when we left she had lost 3oz (off which weight I’m not sure). We went to the dr. on Monday and she’d lost another 5 oz (still not sure of an exact weight here) and she was checked again for jaundice (3 of my 4 children were checked, all were suspicious – none ever had it bad). As you can imagine I was getting scared she was losing too much and not gaining enough. Now she is eating okay (not as good as I’d like) and we had another check today and she was…. Dum, da, dum… 8lbs, 4oz. This time I saw it for myself so I know how much she weighs and I couldn’t have been more proud! Jason thinks it is funny that I’m proud of her for eating. Ha ha!

Z had his 2 year check up and he did great, I think he’s convinced that if you lay on the table it will poke you though, since he got a shot and he just kept looking at the table afterwards as if to say, “Did you see that? Did you see what that table just did? Ouch!”

Finally, 8 days until our moving day! As sad as I am to leave my friends here I am going to be so happy to be with my husband, in my new home and out of all these boxes!

Last but not least here are 10 things that I’ve learned this week:

1.) Children are a wonderful blessing from God and I’m thankful every day for the pleasure of having them in my life.

2.) Little A likes the noise and light – she sleeps great during the day time with all the hustle and bustle around our house.

3.) I worried for nothing, Z loves A and would like to hold her and “help” change her diaper all day long (good thing since she likes to dirty them)! Quotes, “change her now?” “My turn to hold her”

4.) Z is constantly leaning over to kiss A’s head – softly.

5.) B&K are absolutely wonderful kids who are VERY helpful, and really love their newest sibling.

6.) Organization is a key to my sanity in the morning hours; I have found that getting the kids their clothes the night before, having them decide on toast or cheerios and having these things ready to go really eases up on my stress.

7.) I’m feeling more confident every day that being a stay at home mom is something that I will be able to do…..sometimes my own kids seem scarier than a bunch of middle school pre-pubescent teens.

8.) God knew what he was doing when he created husbands and wives! I miss Jason!

9.) Late night TV isn’t all bad. I’ve caught up on some really great shows; The Cosby Show, Andy Griffith and Three’s Company are my personal favorites!

10.) I am so in love with BKZA!

Our newest member....

Our family grew with one little girl on Friday, May 11 at 2:53pm, to be known as A on this blog. She weighed in at 8 lbs, 6 oz and was 20 inches long. We are feeling wonderfully blessed and filled with love for our newest family member.

5:15am

Okay friends and family... the time is approaching fast. Jason is on his way to CS and I have packed my bag. We will call tomorrow morning and see if there is room for us at the hospital, Jason believes that they should kick one of those inconsiderate women out who didn't schedule their birth if there aren't enough rooms.
BKZ are as ready as I can make them. B&K are staying at their friends house tonight and will go to school tomorrow as usual, possibly not as focused as they would be on any other given day. They are both very excited, although today K began begging me to give her a sister.... ugh, nothing like stacking on the pressure at the last minute. Z, hmmm, what can you say about that sweet little two year old. Everyone has an opinion lately about how he's going to react or they want me to predict it. Here's what I know, he's 2 and he has no clue about what is getting ready to happen. I can only pray that he will either co-exist peacefully with this new addition or he'll simply ignore any interruptions to his normal routine. Only time will tell.

Here's the picture that I'm taking to encourage and direct myself (some might call it a focal point, but what the heck is that?!).

T minus 3 and counting...

Hello All
I had my last prenatal doctors appointment today. Yea! Here is what I know. Friday we will be inducing and hopefully have a baby by 5pm. Why such a strict time line? Friday is my doctor's mothers 80th birthday and he wants to be able to take her to play bingo. So I have to stick to a schedule and give birth by 5pm - no pressure of course. hee hee

Funny story of the day. I have said often that Z is definitely my child, he has my temper and my mouth. Today he proved it again. While eating his dinner this evening he began stashing his peas in his shirt pocket. I have to admit that I never was that creative in getting rid of my detested peas, so he obviously got some sneakiness from Jason but I think it is hilarious that he was hiding those peas! Way to go Z!

If you think about it please send up a prayer for the baby and me on Friday. Much love to you all & I will write more when our new addition gets here.

Waiting patiently

Still waiting patiently for BC#4 to make an appearance. For those of you looking for an update I failed to mention that my next doctors appointment is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 8th. So stay tuned... more tomorrow!

Tonight I went with K to gymnastics.
Here's a couple of pictures I took before I was asked to curb my flash photography.

Here's my boys reading together.

Family...

Z had a special phone call on his birthday, Tuesday, May 1st.
G'ma Bonnie & G'pa John called and sang Happy Birthday to him. This is his reaction to his serenade.

My Mom & Dad have been staying in C.S. since December of 2006. There are so many great benefits to having them close. Z has become a great fan of his Papa Coach and Nana - as you can see below Z was very helpful snapping beans with Papa.
I love that they are able to share this time with each other.
