Here's a picture of what happened the last time one of Jason's Clan didn't pay attention at church - ha ha!
Seriously this was Fall 2002 - B and Jason were playing baseball in the backyard and B learned what it meant to keep your eye on the ball.

Pool Party and more
These first pictures are just my crazy kids. Love it when they do things like this so that I can record it for all times - looking forward to those years later in life when I can pull out a scrapbook and share with significant others and their children!!
Another long, packed weekend for Jason's Clan. Saturday K had her last summer swim meet at UT - it's a fast pool and she did great. I may have some really great pictures to share soon (via a friend who was there taking pictures).
After the swim meet was K's Pool Party - she has ALWAYS (for the last 9 years or so!) wanted a pool party for her birthday (difficult considering she was born in January and even in HOT Texas you can't swim then). So we postponed her b'day and celebrated in Hawaiian style yesterday. Lots of fun and a "cool" way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Today was church and our little whirling dervish ran right into the side of a table - ouch! That's going to leave a mark!!

Packed!
No I'm not packed to go anywhere - that is the word that B used to describe our last several days!
Saturday was the last Summer Swim League meet before Champs (which is this weekend) - sadly B didn't and won't be swimming in either of those so the few pictures we captured are all that we have of him for the swim team - as if we don't have a few hundred from other years, poor kid he's so mistreated!
Because it was the last meet of the summer I signed up for an "easy" volunteer job, the 9-10 year old zoo keeper, so that I could take some incredible pictures of my little 9 year old Wahoo (that's a fast fish if you didn't know). So there will be a montage after all my rambling. In addition on Saturday I convinced Jason to go with us to the pool so I could get some pictures of my other little fish (Z&A). B was at the Frio River with our friends from College Station - having a wonderful time from what I can tell!
Sunday was Dad Fest at The Journey UMC - it was awesome! I am thankful to be a part of a place that honors people so much and so thoroughly! We had recliners for the dad's to sit in, giveaways, classic cars, a golf chipper, delicious BBQ luncheon and lots of fellowship. Great experience! Sunday night was a Lock-In for the 4th, 5th and 6th grade crowd - it was a stressful thing for me but turned out to be really good too. I think all the kids that came had fun and it was neat to hear the band in that setting too.
Monday (after about 3 1/2 hours of sleep) I embarked on several meetings, Lock-In clean up, two doctors appointments and finished with a run.
A had her 2 year old well check up (at 10am) and surprisingly she is - healthy (no broken bones or stitches)! For those of you that know Jason's Clan, you will not be surprised to hear that A's head is in the 90th percentile - she's keeping up nicely with her sibs. Her weight and height were about average. She's growing and thriving - we are blessed and thankful for that, especially considering her propensity toward injury! A did have to have one shot and when I told her she said, "huh uh, no." I talked to her, tried to explain in 2 year old language and gave lots of hugs. In the end she did amazingly well - I held her in my lap, she yelled when they did the shot but then calmed right down.
Z went for his 4 year old check up too (at 2pm) - he didn't have his head measured but his weight and height were a little below normal, he's a small little guy but nothing to worry about just waiting for a growth spurt - as a matter of fact I've had several people who have said that since his birthday he's appeared taller, he looks 4. The great thing about Z's appointment was that we found out his vision and hearing are fine and developmentally he's right on track. Yet another blessing to count on this jam packed day. Z had to have 3 shots and everyone will be proud to know he didn't make a sound, sat in my lap and took it like a big kid - he didn't complain or whine! I was proud of him!
Yesterday was packed with laundry and cleaning house. I didn't take before shots (wish I had) but did take after shots - all the toys were sorted through, purged and organized and it felt so good to see the living room looking livable. Jason came home and we grilled burgers for his Father's Day celebration - B wasn't here so we postponed the festivities. Yum!
Today I did some grocery shopping, I have a VBS meeting and then I've been invited to a friends house for some serious So You Think You Can Dance viewing this evening. In addition, I have asked B to take me to the pool and give me a good workout since I missed last night - that will be fun.
I'm going to go ahead and post this with a couple of pictures - montage of swimming to follow later this evening.

Long Weekend (or Dear Uncle Scott - come back soon)
This weekend was long, crazy and very busy! Friday was not a good day for B - he had food poisoning the night before (no details -if you want them email Bonnie she'll share that story)!
Friday Scott was here, he took the big kids to the pool (along with K's friend) and I kept A and her little friend, Reese here (while her mom took big brother to the dr.). The dr. appt. lasted longer than expected and A ended up having her first friend sleepover (pictures to follow) - granted it was a naptime sleep over but it counts because they took naps in the living room floor watching Dora The Exlorer. After all of that we had dinner watched a movie and got ready for our Saturday.
Saturday I was up and at the pool at 5:30 to help set up for the swim meet, BK & Scott came up around 7am to practice and Scott volunteered (technically I volunteered him but he went pretty willingly & happily). The kids swam and had fun, we helped pack up and then off we went to the house. We stayed long enough to put on our swimsuits and get directions to go tubing. We spent the next several hours getting stuck on rocks (that's Texas drought talk for tubing on the rapids). When we had enough walking around with tubes we headed home (Scott had to go back to Houston to pack for another exciting trip to Africa). We got home, showered and I dressed for a bike ride - I rode 15 miles! Came home, had a snack, watched some TV and went to bed!
Sunday we had church, with a marathon tear down (because someone was waiting to use the facility when we were done) - then we headed home. I was ready for a nap!! I took one, went bike riding again (not as far but in extreme heat!) and then I went out for dinner with my friends. The sad thing is that I experienced my first migraine (I think it was the heat that did it) and I have to say it was the most excrutiating thing I've dealt with in a long time! I couldn't move - thought I was going to hurl everytime I twitched or blinked. No more 4pm bike rides in 100 degree heat for me!!
Today was busy - Bible study, grocery store, cleaning the kitchen, two meetings and then running this evening. Tomorrow I have two things on my calendar and neither of them are until after 4pm - SWEET!
I'll post pictures tomorrow, I'm not up to going into the kitchen to get the camera right now. G'night!

Happy Birthday!
Aw now that is cute!
Happy Birthday Shawn! 18 years old - that is just crazy talk!! I hope that Saturday was a wonderful day for you! Enjoy your senior year!
It has been forever since I've posted a blog so I figured I'd give you all a birthday present on my birthday and say hello! So there you go - hello! Hope that makes it all better.
Last week was the first week of summer vacation and we decided to hit the ground running. I prepared for a trip (with A) to Corpus Christi for the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church - only one thing can be said about this great group. They are very methodical! While there I present for Pastor Kyle's ordination - very neat. A got to play in the pool and ocean and has officially become a water baby! She LOVES any body of water.
Prior to leaving I had some stress but I was so glad to be there and then returning just proved absences makes the heart grow fonder. I missed my crazy clan!
This week has been busy too - I went running on Monday, decided not to swim on Tuesday because I came home and Jason had made dinner - yum, it smelled to good to leave until later. Since I skipped swimming Tuesday I decided to push myself and go running with the Tri club on Wednesday. This was a little hard because I didn't really prepare (eating 1 hour ahead) - so I indicated to Jason that I was either going for a run or go have some ice cream... I called after my run and said I had just finished a Double Chocolate Ding Dang Do (code for running). I crack myself up!
This morning I conquered the bathroom - it is clean and I have more to do but I know my faithful readers (Bonnie & Mom) are missing a blog post. So here it is - I'll even put some pictures up to make you smile.
Love to all - I'll post again in a week or a month or somewhere in between.
