Monday!

Here is what Hobbes & I do on Monday's. Not a very exciting day for most but I feel so good when all of this is washed, dried and put away! Of course it only lasts a few minutes before someone comes home and takes off their socks... but I enjoy it while it lasts!

Oh yea and we had a little Cascarones celebration too with our friends the McKids!

I know - even if it isn't Easter. Who knew all these Texans were having so much fun smashing each other in the head with hollow eggs?! I never knew when I was up north (in yankee-ville)!

I'm in the state that celebrates Patriots Day (can't wait for that day off in April)! Can you explain cascarones? Hollow eggs? How do you make them hollow?

I don't make them hollow - Wal-Mart & HEB does that for me! I (or my friend Terry in this situation) buy them and then you smash them over your loved ones head - huge fun, we should get some and bring them at Christmas!! Only they are VERY messy and I wouldn't recommend doing them indoors. Maybe one of my Texas friends could enlighten us on the real reason for these way fun instruments of loving torture...

They are meant to bring "good luck" to those who have one cracked over their head. It is also really popular during Fiesta Week in San Antonio, where the kids actually get a day off from school for the Battle of Flowers Parade. I just think it's addicting and they want to keep doing it even once Easter is over. :-)
